New and Notable: April Favorites

Every month I love sharing a roundup of my recent favorite items, whether it’s food, books, beauty products or recipes. I usually share through my email list, but I am so excited to begin sharing these lists here as well!

one. Summer Fridays Lip Balm A friend got me this for my birthday after hearing me talk about wanting to try it… It is SO worth the hype it’s been getting! I got the vanilla color, which is just like a clear lip balm, but it stays on and feels SO hydrating. I know I am going to be constantly reaching for this in the summer months!

two. Probiotic Soda I love carbonated water or kombucha, but sometimes they do hurt my stomach/make me feel bloated. Enter in Poppi or Ollipop soda- it’s a healthier “soda” full of nutrients, apple cider vinegar, and ingredients that are good for your gut. I love that they’re super low in sugar, and such a good afternoon treat!

three. Slick back ponytails I have really been into the slick back look lately. Here are my favorite products making my slick back dreams come true.

Hair ties. Brush.  Pomade.

four. ACV refresher Recently I’ve been reading up on ways to lessen your glucose spikes/keep your glucose stable. There are SO many benefits to this, including more stable energy levels, not getting as hungry between meals, and giving your metabolism a boost. One way to do this is making yourself a little refreshing drink before your most carb heavy meal of the day. It’s one tbsp apple cider vinegar, lemon juice (I use about a half a lemon), lots of ice, and water. You can add in an electrolyte packet like LMNT or Redmond (make sure whatever you use doesn’t include any added sugar) or a bit of stevia if you like it not as tart. This lil drink can reduce the glucose spike of your meal by 30%!

five. Reading Rhythm I go through times of reading consistently, and then other times I can’t seem to get into ANY book. Right now I am loving reading and I always find I sleep so much better when I read before bed rather than end my evening watching a show. My top tip for getting back into a reading rhythm is starting with a simple read. Something light, quick to read, and that will keep you on your toes. A few quick reads I loved ately- The Midnight Library by Matt Haig, The Last Thing He Told Me by

six. Time Outside + Podcasts Now that the days are growing longer, we have no excuse to not be outdoors! I love walks and podcasts- a few of my favorites this month have been Dr. Will Cole’s The Art of being Well, Melissawoodhealth, and the Rich Roll podcast.

And that concludes my April favorites! I hope you enjoyed that little list and that maybe you find something new for yourself this month.
